TUCSON- Two people were shot during an officer-involved shooting in midtown early Saturday morning.
According to Tucson Police Sergeant Chris Widmer, officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of East Silver Street around 1:15 a.m. for reports of a suicidal woman with a gun.
Three officers arrived on scene and encountered a female and male outside the residence.
Widmer says when officers attempted to make contact with the female, she pulled out a gun.
All three officers fired their weapons, striking both the female and male.
The female died from her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The male was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident, along with detectives from the Office of Internal Affairs.
