ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The New York utility company Consolidated Edison says it has received a subpoena from the state attorney general and is cooperating with his investigation of the preparation and response to Superstorm Sandy.

An official familiar with the investigation says the Long Island Power Authority also received a subpoena Wednesday.

The official wasn't authorized to speak during the investigation and requested anonymity. The official said Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is seeking plans and performance records on restoring power, communicating with customers without power and other aspects of response to the storm.

The storm sapped electricity for more than 2 million New York customers.

Con Ed says it looks forward to communicating its preparations and response.

The probe is separate from a commission created by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to investigate utilities involved in Sandy.
