Residents in a mobile home park on the northwest side have been literally in the dark since Wednesday night.

Officials say that a transformer went out causing a power outage to about 200 homes.

While it's been an inconvenience, most residents took it in stride.

Shirley Rich says, "It's been interesting, the worse part for me is no hairdryer, fortunately the park has provided hot coffee and donuts and rolls for people that can't get out and go get breakfast or food."

Some residents had other concerns.

Lois Brichard says, "There are some who are on 24-hour oxygen that sort of thing; it's a health hazard for them."

Pat Schoneck heads the neighborhood association. She went door to door making sure everyone was okay.

"We've had them come down to the other club house which does have power," says Schoneck.

Molly Claypool chose to stay with a friend. She has leukemia and can't afford to get sick.

"There's worst things; think about our troops overseas this is nothing. So we have to be thankful for what we do have," says Claypool.
