TUCSON - A mobile home fire has displaced two resident on the northwest side, and their cat is missing and presumed dead.
Northwest Fire District crews arrived at a double-wide mobile home in the 4400 block of North Hansa Drive, near Wetmore and La Cholla. Crews found the home 75 percent involved with the fire, and had a difficult time bringing it under control, as the homeowner stored an excessive amount of personal items in the home, according to a news release from NWFD.
"The fire fuels contributed to the high heat and rapid spread of the fire," said Fire Cause Investigator Marie West. Investigators believe a candle in the home was the cause, and the damage to the structure is estimated at $30,000.
The Southern Arizona Red Cross will be assisted the occupants and owners with lodging, food and supplies.
