BOSTON- Prosecutors pushed for an answer, but it wasn't clear when James "Whitey" Bulger's trial adjourned for the day if he'll testify before the defense rests its case.
A racketeering indictment charges the 83-year-old reputed gangster with participating in 19 murders while head of Boston's Winter Hill Gang.
Prosecutors told the judge Wednesday that the government deserves to know if Bulger will testify and that he's had enough time to decide.
U.S. District Judge Denise Casper said she would hear from lawyers about the issue after Wednesday's testimony ended.
She later adjourned for the day after a private sidebar with the attorneys without any sign of whether there had been a decision.
