TUCSON - It's a trail where horses and hikers stroll through the saguaros.

Welcome to the Loma Verde Trail, which can be done by horseback, but by foot's what we're focusing on.

A lot of times, we're telling you to watch your footing because of loose rocks or elevation. This time, it's an entirely different reason, thanks to what the horses leave behind.

Start off on the Shantz Trail at the Wildhorse Trailhead. There's a few forks in the trail, so make sure to stay to the right.

You'll find the Loma Verde Trail to be rather flat and wide, making it easy to soak in the stunning Rincons. "Every curve in the trail that you go around, you see a different view of the mountains, different rock formations. It's just beautiful," said hiker Diane Peters.

And if its desert flora you're after, look no further than the Loma Verde. Peters said, "Looking at the saguaros, looking at the different shapes of them and thinking about how old they are, it just really gives you your place in history".

Hiker Jason Wittek adds, "I didn't realize there was this many types of cacti. I knew about the saguaros but I didn't know about these little guys you're seeing here".

This out and back trail is over 7 miles round trip, but is perfect for all skill levels.
