TUCSON - Today on News 4 Cooks at Noon, our friend Chef Jack Ahern stopped by with another classic sandwich on the Ric's Café menu. Here's the recipe:
Monte Cristo Sandwich
Ingredients
2 Slices of Thick Texas Toast
2 Eggs Beaten Well
2 Slices of Swiss Cheese
5 oz Ham - Sliced Thin
2 oz Strawberry Jam
Healthy Pinch of Powdered Sugar
4 T Butter
Instructions
In a large skillet melt butter over medium high heat. Dip 1 side of bread into the beaten egg, then place in skillet. Put cheese on bread. While cheese is melting, heat the ham in the skillet turning ham until hot through ~ 3-4 minutes. Place ham on 1 slice of bread and top with other slice of bread with cheese. Cut sandwich diagonally and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with strawberry Jam.
