PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a newborn girl has been found abandoned on the front yard of a north Phoenix home.
Phoenix police officers are going door-to-door in the neighborhood, but have no information yet on the identity of the newborn's mother.
Police believe the infant was three to six hours old when she was abandoned and may have been left at the house for about an hour Tuesday.
They say the baby had afterbirth still on her body and the umbilical cord still attached.
Police say the baby was "awake and conscious" when the Phoenix Fire Department transported her to a hospital.
