COCHISE COUNTY - There is a new wildfire burning in the Coronado National Forest in the Sierra Vista Ranger District.
The 'Cottonwood' Fire is burning about 20 to 25 acres in the Whetstone Mountains above Post Ranch. The lightning-caused fire began yesterday. Two firefighting crews, three engines and one water tender are assigned to this fire. Also, two single-engine air tankers and one helicopter are tackling this fire from above.
There are no evacuations and no structures are threatened.
The fire is burning on a ridgetop in grass and brush.
