TUCSON, AZ - Tucson Values Teachers is back with another round of discount cards for teachers.
This time though, they will be offering them to all K-12 public, private and charter school teachers in Southern Arizona, not just Pima County. The promotion will last all year long.
Also, there will be more discounts this time. There are more than double the amount of participating businesses compared with last summer. There are now more than 30 and businesses continue to join.
There will be an event Thursday evening to kick off the campaign at Sir Veza's Taco Garage, on the corner of Speedway and Swan from 4:30-6:30.
The non-profit organization will be handing out the discount cards there to teachers with a paycheck stub or valid teacher ID. There will also be food and drink specials.
After 5pm Thursday, teachers will also be able to print their discount cards online and then bring them to businesses for the discounts. They would need to show a recent paycheck stub or an valid teacher ID to receive the discounts.
Organizers with Tucson Values Teachers say they support teachers and improving education. Their goal is to retain, recruit and reward K-12 teachers in the region.
