SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police officers on Monday afternoon arrested a social media maven and former political consultant who was wanted by federal agents on suspicion of possessing explosives.
A law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said 42-year-old Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II was spotted in his white car around 6:22 p.m. Monday near San Francisco's Crissy Field, just south of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The official told The Associated Press that Chamberlain was arrested without incident and is in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he is being processed or undergoing interrogation.
A news conference on the arrest was planned for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the San Francisco Federal Building.
