SIERRA VISTA - The repercussions from one night have extended into an officer's personal life as well as the lives of other law enforcement.

According to Sierra Vista Police, the day after the shooting, one of Avechuco's bothers threatened to kill Dannels and other law enforcement officers. Dannels father is Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels. The sheriff's office reports they also received information about death threats.
For a while, Sheriff Dannels and some members of his department had extra security around them to make sure that no one could approach them and threaten them . Also to make sure there was no immediate danger.
Sheriff Dannels says in a statement, "We have reportedly had threats made to law enforcement and toward myself and others in our organization. We consider any threat to be serious and take a very aggressive stance in these situations. The Sheriff's Office will continue to do the right thing and take a stand for justice in any instance of this nature. With that in mind, we will continue to follow any and all leads with information that we receive and if enough probable cause is developed then appropriate action will be taken."
The FBI and Sierra Vista Police Dept. are still investigating the shooting, and once the reports are in, the case will be reviewed by the Pima County Attorney's office.
