TUCSON - The majority of restaurant health inspections this week came in with excellent scores. But two places got hit with multiple critical violations.
Circle S. Saloon in Marana was written up for 4 critical violations. Potentially hazardous food was stored above 41 degrees. An employee was observed contacting ready to eat hard boiled eggs with his bare hands. Plastic food containers and knives with food debris on the surface. And knives were stored on a dirty magnetic surface. Those critical violations were corrected before the inspector left so Circle S. Saloon passes with a Good rating!
Cattleman's Café in Marana was cited with 4 critical violations. Eggs and milk were stored above the required 41 degrees. A cook was spotted cracking a raw egg and handling a clean dish without washing his hands and changing gloves. A food processor was covered with dust. And plates had dirt or food splatter on the surface.
The restaurant manager told News4 Tucson," inspector came right after a very busy breakfast rush hour and we corrected all the violations while the inspector was present." That quick fix helped Cattleman's Café pass with a Good rating!
too many excellent grades to share them all.. But here are three top performers tonight.
Dirtbag's on E. Speedway, Sunny Daze Café on South Campbell, and Yokohama Asian Express on W. Valencia are three of the many restaurants receiving Excellent ratings this week.
