TUCSON - A man is in critical condition after losing control of his motorcycle on the Northwest side Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics arrived at Hartman Lane and Cortaro Farms Road, and transported the 53 year-old man with life threatening injuries to the Trauma Center at the University of Arizona's Central Campus.

According to the Northwest Fire District, the motorcyle rider was wearing an old-fashion style "short" helmet.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

This is the second accident involving a motorcycle on the Northwest side within 16 hours.
