RED ROCK - A teacher, at Red Rock Elementary School found a 14-year old student with a hit list. In writing, classmates he allegedly, intended to kill.
It all happened last Tuesday and one of the parents, whose child was on the list, spoke with us.
Scared does not even begin to describe what she is feeling.
We are protecting the parent's identity. With Red Rock being a small community and the alleged offender, a student, still living there she fears for her child's safety.
Nestled between Tucson and Phoenix, Red Rock is a community centered around it's kids.
A place where kids can play in the street without a care in the world.
But that feeling of security was shattered in one phone call from the school.
"They said that they confiscated a hit list that another student had produced. That there were 8 names on the list three girls, five boys. One of the girls names was my daughter so they wanted to bring it to my attention," said the parent.
According to the report from the Pinal County Sheriff's Department the teen wrote how he wanted to kill four of those classmates, naming poison, sniper, anvil, and incineration.
Lillian Norris is Red Rock Elementary's District Administrator who says the school acted immediately.
Releasing this statement, "The school immediately suspended the student and at the same time contacted the pinal county sheriff's office. This is now an on-going sheriff's investigation and we are confident in their integrity in handling the case accordingly."
The report says the teen admitted to the note but told the deputy this was the first school he felt comfortable to talk with other kids, having a history of being bullied, problems reading, and poor social skills.
Meantime, this parent wants to see action before another January 8th tragedy.
"Everybody I talked to about this incident has said this is probably a warning sign and somebody needs to do something to prevent another incident happening," said the parent.
The boy said he wrote the list as a joke to make kids in his class laugh and when explaining it to the deputy he cried repeatedly.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office will turn their information over to the Pinal County Attorney's Office.
The attorney's office said "At this point no comment can be made in the case because it's an open investigation."
