More Ben's Bells ringing across Tucson

TUCSON- Since 2003 the Ben's Bells project has been spreading its message of kindness across Tucson and in recent years the movement has peaked so much interest, the little bells are now surfacing across the city in a big way.

"We opened a new location downtown in January, and that has really allowed us to amp up production," Ben's Bells Founder Jeannette Mare says.

From now on the bells will be distributed on a regular basis, rather than just twice a year.

"The beauty of this is, as folks go through the community, they'll be able to find bells just by pure serendipity," Ben's Bells Board Member Dev Sethi says.

News 4 Tucson tagged along as Sethi and his daughter's girl scout troop hung bells on trees in the Catalina Foothills. They're now one of tens of thousands of Tucsonans volunteering to paint the bells and hang them. "It's about remembering to be kind every day, to keep that message in our brains," Mare says.

Since 2003 Ben's Bells has distributed more than 27,000 bells across Tucson and beyond.
