TUCSON - Strong monsoon storms are pushing migrating pelicans off course and into our desert.
The Tucson Wildlife Center tells News 4 they have rescued five brown pelicans since last month.
They say strong storms from Mexico confused them on their way to Southern California.
They say hot roads give the illusion of water, which causes the pelicans to crash into the road.
Once the birds are treated, they'll go to Sea World in San Diego to be released.
Check out the latest events FC Tucson has scheduled.
