TUCSON- Monsoon storms returned Tuesday and caused widespread flooding around Tucson.
Most storms were big soakers, with the northwest side of town seeing up to two inches of rain in less than an hour Tuesday afternoon. Oro Valley and Mount Lemmon each picking up over an inch of rain as well.
The rain flooded washes and streets, causing several cars to become stuck. It also caused the closures of roads all around Tucson. For the latest road closures you can visit the Pima County Road Closure website.
Some storms continue to develop and move through Cochise County and Santa Cruz County this evening, with some having the potential to become severe and/or produce heavy amounts of rainfall.
Wednesday looks to be another active day for storms around Southern Arizona, with scattered storms in the forecast.
The good news today, the rain dropped the temperatures around Tucson into the 60s and 70s this afternoon.
