TUCSON - Keep the umbrella handy if you have outdoor plans the next few days.
Enough Monsoon moisture returns for the development of isolated thunderstorms, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The best chance for storms today should be from Tucson and points west, with storms tapering off after 8 PM. Since storms will be of the hit & miss variety, today's Monsoon Prediction Index is set at 3 out of 10 for the low risk of severe weather.
A West Coast trough keeps Monsoon moisture & moisture from Hurricane Ileana streaming up from the south through the weekend. Expect a daily round of isolated thunderstorms through Labor Day with highs in the upper 90's for Tucson. Any storm will be brief and shouldn't completely wash out your weekend plans.
Not much change in the forecast for the upcoming abbreviated work week, as temps in the mid 90's accompany the daily chance of isolated storms.
