TUCSON - Monsoon storms bring heavy rain to Cochise County for the second straight day.
Another round of strong storms moving through Cochise County Saturday evening has once again raised the flooding concern. With storms capable of dumping over an inch of rain and falling on already saturated ground a Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Sierra Vista, Hereford and Palominas until 10:30pm.
Douglas was also hit hard this evening with some locations reporting nearly 0.50". The official measuring station at the Douglas-Bisbee Airport now has over 2" for the monsoon.
A few showers and storms will continue well into the overnight hours as the atmosphere remains primed with plenty of moisture.
That abundant moisture will interact with an upper level disturbance on Sunday to keep this active monsoon pattern alive. Scattered storms will once again be the call for Southern Arizona tomorrow afternoon with some possibly turning severe as the threat of strong wind gusts and heavy soaking rains persist.
A downturn in the monsoon activity isn't expected until the middle of next week when slightly drier moves into the region. Stay up to date with your N4T forecast here.
