TUCSON - Numerous storms with flooding rain moved into SE Arizona today as the monsoon continues to roar in with a bang.
Flash flooding was occurring in Nogales and portions of SE Tucson. The Santa Cruz River was running very high and the Nogales wash was overflowing into many streets.
Meanwhile, over 2.5" of rain was reported in Corona de Tucson where flash flooding was also occurring. Minor flooding was observed near Benson and Green Valley on Monday afternoon as well.
Widespread flooding will wind down late Monday and only isolated pockets of heavy rain should continue during the overnight hours.
More monsoon storms are likely again on Tuesday before a downward trend in storm coverage by midweek.
