TUCSON - Independence Day brought brought more needed rain to the parched Sonoran Desert for the second straight day .
As of 9 p.m. most of the stomrs have ended over the region with a few moderate showers mainly in Cochise County.
Flash Flooding was seen on Mt. Lemmon where as much as 4" of rain has fallen over the past 24 hours. Oro Valley has picked-up over 1" in the past day, and Green Valley and many other towns have received measurable rain. At TIA, where records are kept, only a trace of rain fell Friday - but 0.16" was received Thursday.
Look for scattered mainly PM thunderstorms to continue for much of the weekend and into next work-week. Highs will be cooler but the humidity will be higher.
Have a great holiday weekend.
