TUCSON - Monsoon still on break to start the weekend.
Moisture is shut off or Southern Arizona as a dry westerly flow takes over the region, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. Besides a few short lived mountain thunderstorms most areas will stay dry through this weekend. With our Monsoon Prediction Index stuck in low range there will be little risk of any storms turning severe.
Weekend temperatures look on track to stay right around average with daytime highs topping in the mid to upper 90s. We make another run at the triple digits as we head into the middle of next week.
Monsoon moisture is back on the rise by Tuesday as storm chances turn more widespread. High pressure will park over the four corners for the middle of next week keeping isolated to scattered storms in the forecast.
