Monsoon pattern stays active Sunday

TUCSON - Another round of scattered storms expected this afternoon.

With plenty of moisture in place across Southern Arizona and an upper level disturbance moving through Northern Mexico it looks to be another active monsoon day. Scattered storms will once again develop in the mountains and push into the valleys through the afternoon and evening hours.

Some storms will the have the potential to turn severe today with strong gusty winds and small hail. Heavy rain may also lead to flash flooding, especially in Cochise County where storms have been prevalent over the last couple of days.

This active monsoon pattern will stick around through Tuesday with scattered storms possible each afternoon. Our monsoon ridge of high pressure moves into a less favorable position for storm development by midweek and scattered storm chances turn more isolated.
