TUCSON - A video of a group of people boating through a monsoon-flooded wash near Casa Grande has people talking.
However, it's certainly not the brightest idea for 10 people to pile into a boat and go for a joy ride. It appears eight of them are children, with the youngest being just a toddler.
No one was wearing a life vest, and there was no apparent concern for the raging flood waters that surrounded them. This all happened yesterday, during the monsoon storms.
As far as we know, they all made it to dry ground safely. They're lucky - this story could have had a very unhappy ending.
"It never ceases to amaze me...tragedy," said Northwest Fire's Captain Adam Goldberg when we showed him the video.
Of course, here in Arizona, we have the stupid motorist law, but Captain Goldberg says there's no law prohibiting people from taking a boat into a wash.
