TUCSON - Monsoon activity to pick back up this week.
As of 9pm Sunday evening a few showers and thunderstorms continued to develop across Southern Arizona. These storms will continue to push west over the next few hours bringing brief periods of heavy rain and gusty winds before they die down.
Monday will see similar activity with hit or miss storms once again possible. Temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will accompany these isolated storms.
Heading into Tuesday afternoon monsoon activity is expected to pick back up as an upper level disturbance moves through the region. With abundant moisture in place, scattered storms will be capable of producing heavy flooding rains and gusty winds.
Late this workweek moisture will begin thin out and storm chances by Friday will limited to areas southeast of Tucson.
