TUCSON - The Monsoon's making a triumphant return in less than 48 hours.
According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, winds aloft start transitioning from the southwest to the southeast this weekend. This wind shift will draw in the moisture necessary for Monsoon storms to develop.
A few pop-up mountain thunderstorms are possible as early as Saturday. Isolated valley/scattered mountains storms will be possible area-wide by Sunday, bringing gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall.
Next week appears to be active weather-wise, with storms in the forecast every day.
