Saturday night proved costly for the Arizona Wildcat's men's basketball team, not only suffering their first loss of the season, 60-58 against California, but they might have also lost one of their top players for the rest of the season.
Coach Sean Miller said after Saturday night's loss at Cal, sophomore forward Brandon Ashley likely has a broken foot and could miss the remainder of the season.
Miller said Ashley will have X-rays done on his foot to determine the extend of the injury and decide if there is a chance he could play again this season.
Ashley suffered the injury early in the first half and did not return to the game. After the halftime break, he was wearing a walking boot on the foot.
The sophomore forward is third in scoring for the Wildcats this season, averaging 11.5 points per game.
Freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will likely move into the starting rotation replacing Ashley.
Arizona (21-1) will host Oregon and Oregon State this weekend.
