TUCSON - A Tucson man who pleaded guilty to "vulnerable adult abuse" for neglecting his stroke-impared girlfriend will be spending the next year and a half behind bars.

Neighbors turned in 48-year-old Christopher Lopez after they found his girlfriend on the floor, covered in feces and urine. The woman told investigators she had been left lying on the floor in her own waste for weeks, but would not cooperate with prosecutors.

Prosecutors say the woman had been incapacitated for ten years by a stroke, and Lopez was paid by the state to care for her.

Authorities were called to the couple's home again following a dispute.
