TUCSON - The entire country seems to have mega millions fever, and Tucson is no exception.
The Mega Millions jackpot soared to an estimated $636 million for Tuesday's drawing, making it the second largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
The winning numbers are 8, 14, 17, 20, 39, and the Mega Ball is 7.
If there is no jackpot winner Tuesday night, the next drawing could be for more than a billion dollars.
Ticket sales ended Tuesday at 7:59pm Arizona time. Now we're waiting for lottery officials to announce if anyone struck it rich and where.
As anticipation grew, so did the prize. Strong ticket sales Tuesday pushed the jackpot from $586 million to $636 million.
"A Mega Millions winner hopefully, I hope I win," said a Tucson player.
Another says, "I'll do with just one million, but $636 million is even better."
In October, Mega Millions was redesigned to increase jackpots and lower your odds of winning a prize. The odds to win the whole thing: one in 259 million. But that hasn't stopped aspiring multimillionaires from playing the game.
"If you win, what will you do with the money?" asks News 4 Tucson's Rebecca Taylor.
One man says, "I don't even know."
"Keep it. Nah I'll share it," says another.
Would you quit your job?
"Yes I would, and I'd help everybody in my family," says another.
At one point the Arizona Lottery website temporarily crashed due to so many people logging on for information Tuesday.
