Three more people have been arrested in the killing of a Tennessee mother and her daughter and the kidnapping of her two other daughters.

Authorities aren't saying much yet about the new charges, but they come hours after the fugitive suspect in the case killed himself.

A phone tip lead police to the woods behind a church late Thursday afternoon, where a local game warden found Adam Mayes and the two kidnapped sisters.

After refusing to surrender, Mayes took his own life.

"Officers issued commands to Adam Mayes to show his hands. Mayes pulled a pistol from his waistband and shot himself in the head," reported FBI Special Agent Aaron T. Ford.

12-year-old Alexandra Bain and her 8-year-old sister Kyliyah were found safe, taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, and released after a few hours.

The two were kidnapped by Mayes, along with their mother Jo Ann Bain and 14-year-old sister, Adrienne, two weeks ago from their Tennessee home.

Mayes allegedly then murdered Jo Ann and Adrienne and buried them behind his house in Mississippi before going on the run with the two other girls.

His wife, Teresa, also faces first degree murder charges after reportedly confessing to involvement in the case.

Her mother says Mayes forced her to take part.

"I know that she was coerced and manipulated and forced to do the things that she did," said Josephine Tate.

Police have also charged Adam Mayes' mother with two counts of kidnapping for her role in the case.
