TUCSON- As of 8 a.m. Wednesday just 1,312 votes separated Martha McSally and Ron Barber in the race for Congressional District 2. McSally has a 50.28 percent lead over Barber's 49.69 percent. Neither side has conceded.

Wednesday morning McSally spent some time with Tucson Today's John Overall and Danielle Lerner, talking about her campaign, her opponent, and her plans moving forward, should she be declared the winner.

News 4 Tucson reached out to Ron Barber's team, asking if Barber could also join the Tucson Today crew. They said they appreciate the offer but unfortunately, no one was available. Barber released a statement late Tuesday night, saying in part:

"While we don't yet know the outcome of this election, I want to say how grateful I am to all those who have stood alongside me - and stood up for what's important to Southern Arizona...We'll continue to watch the results over the next few days, and whatever happens, we will trust the people of Southern Arizona-as I always have and always will."
