The following is a release from the Marana Unified School District:

TUCSON - The Marana Unified School District's annual District Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10:15 am in the auditorium at Mountain View High School.

Over 5,500 Marana Unified School District students, representing eleven elementary schools and two middle schools, competed in classroom and school spelling bees over the past two months in order to qualify for the District Bee. The top twenty-eight spellers ranging from fourth to eighth grade will now compete for the title of MUSD Spelling Bee Champion.

The top four spellers from MUSD will proceed to the Pima County Spelling Bee to be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind, Berger Center for the Performing Arts, 1200 W. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ.
