NOGALES - A Tucson man is detained at the border for trying to smuggle more than 425 pounds of marijuana inside pinatas.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say 24-year-old Juan Marcelo Armstrong was trying to enter the U.S. through the Mariposa Port of Entry in Nogales, but a narcotics detection canine alerted agents to the pinatas in the bed of his vehicle.

Marcelo was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
