Man shot dead in southside home front yard

TUCSON - Tucson police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a home on the south side.

It happened just before 4:00am Saturday.

Police say family and friends were gathered at a home in the 2100 block of East Silvosa, near 36th and Kino.

Some people were in the front yard, while most of the others were inside.

Police say the people inside heard shouting coming from the front yard, and then they heard gunshots.

When they went to see what was going on, they found a man shot, lying on the ground.

He has been identified as 24-year old Mario Martin Paz.

Officers and paramedics responded, and despite efforts to revive the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Everyone else who had been outside during the shooting scattered.

The search for suspects continues, along for a motive for the shooting.
