LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities are searching Lake Havasu for a man who went missing overnight gusty winds distanced him from his boat.
Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter says divers are searching waterways and the shoreline for the 62-year-old, who was reported missing around 5:30 p.m. Monday north of Parker Dam.
Carter says he was on a boat with his wife and a family friend.
He then jumped into the water and high winds pushed the boat away just as he was swimming toward it.
Carter says others on board tried to throw a rope and make their way back to him.
The man was not wearing a lifejacket.
