A man has died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on the Nogales Highway Wednesday night.

Deputies from the San Xavier District says 33-year old Mario Luis Lopez was headed southbound on Nogales Highway near East Pan Tak Street around 7:50 pm Wednesday night when a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling northbound turned left in front of him.

Deputies say Mr. Lopez was unable to avoid hitting the truck. He was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local hospital by helicopter, where he later died.

The Pima County Sheriff's Traffic unit also responded and is continuing the investigation.
