TUCSON (AP) - Authorities say a Tucson man is in custody for alleged child abuse.
Tucson police say 25-year-old Tanner Brown was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of felony child abuse.
Detectives say a 3-month-old boy and his 21-month-old sister were left in Brown's care while the children's mother went to work at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.
When the mother returned a few hours later, Brown told her there was something wrong with the baby. The child's mother noticed the baby was pale, limp and unresponsive and she called 911.
The baby was taken to a hospital, where medical personnel say the infant was showing signs of head trauma and other injuries consistent with being forcefully shaken.
Police say the baby remains in critical condition.
