There's been a string of car thefts from rental agencies here in Tucson and in Phoenix. Police are looking for one man.
They say he uses the names of Carlos Lopez or Carlos Oliver a, a Hispanic man in his mid-30's.
Authorities say he has ripped off rental vehicles using Mexican identification.
One agency rented to him twice, and is now out two very expensive vehicles.
Police aren't naming the car rental agencies.
Investigators say in both cases he went to airports to rent the vehicles.
Here in Tucson he went to the same agency in less than a week's time and each time was given a 2010 Jeep Commander.
Tucson Airport Authority Police Chief John Ivanoff says, "The person who rented was obviously very very smart. He didn't feel it would be picked up that two vehicles would be stolen in that short amount of time."
The suspect then traveled to Phoenix where at Sky Harbor Airport he rented another vehicle and again never returned it.
Phoenix police are working that case. Detective Mike Fischer says, "They're looking into everything here, and they're trying to find out how this person is obtaining these entire vehicle because at one point you would figure out what he's up too."
What investigators do know is that none of the vehicles have been used in any crimes. So there's a good chance the Jeep Commanders are out of the country and the rental agencies are out the money.
A reward is being offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest.
