TUCSON - Starting tomorrow, there will be several traffic changes on the Northwest side.

The Pima County Department of Transportation, Regional Transportation Authority and their contractor Ashton Company will be starting several traffic control changes on east Magee Road from La Cholla Boulevard to La Cañada Drive. Construction crews will be performing massive work along eastbound Magee Road from La Cholla Boulevard to La Cañada Drive which will require the following traffic control changes/detours.

Starting Tuesday, October 2nd, at 6:00 a.m., both directions of traffic on Magee Road from La Cañada Drive to La Cholla Boulevard will be shifted to the south side of Magee Road (eastbound lanes). This shift will continue west of Zarragoza Drive where traffic will then be shifted back onto the north side (westbound lanes) of Magee Road to La Cholla Boulevard.

Starting Tuesday, October 2nd, at 6:00 a.m., right-hand turns for westbound traffic on Magee Road to northbound La Cholla Boulevard will be restricted. All traffic will be diverted at La Cañada Drive and Magee Road to proceed north to Overton Road to access northbound La Cholla Boulevard.
In addition, southbound traffic on La Cholla Boulevard will be restricted from making a left-hand turn (eastbound) onto Magee Road at La Cholla Boulevard. For eastbound travel, traffic will be diverted to Ina Road.

Message boards will be in place advising motorists of these changes. Also, when necessary, deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department will direct traffic as needed.
The Pima County Department of Transportation reminds motorists to obey traffic control signs and speed limits through the construction zone.

These traffic control changes will be in place until October 25th.
