Main Gate Square reopens with several new, relocated stores

TUCSON - Tonight, East University Boulevard is scheduled to reopen, and with it, several new stores and restaurants will be opening in Main Gate Square.

East University Blvd was closed for construction over the summer for additions to the Streetcar tracks which used to connect North Fourth Ave and East University Blvd. The improvements will add additional tracks to connect North Fourth Ave, Main Gate Square, Downtown, the main University of Arizona campus and the Arizona Health Science center.

According to UA news release, East University Blvd is planned to reopen Monday and the Streetcar service is planned to open late next year.

Main Gate Square's new businesses include The Fix, Scented Leaf Tea House and Lounge, Posner's Art Store and The A-Store.

The Fix is a macaroni-and-cheese-themed restaurant that will serve different forms of comfort food. It opened six days ago and is located at 943 E. University Blvd. Also at this address is new location of the Scented Leaf Tea House and Lounge which was formally The Scented Leaf Fine Teas and Fragrances. The tea house will offer around 45 different, imported loose-leaf teas, the release states. Posner's Art House has been relocated to 944 E. University Blvd and will carry many art supplies for UA's art students. The A-Store is now open at the 845 N. Park Ave.
