TUCSON - Davis-Monthan Air Force Base officials confirmed that the loud explosion heard on Tucson's east side at about 2:30 p.m. today was likely caused by jets flying in the area ahead of tomorrow's open house.
"Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona" kicks off tomorrow, but today several aerial performances are taking place, including a flight by the U.S. Air Force's Thunderbirds.
Several people have called the News 4 Tucson newsroom reporting a loud explosion that rattled homes and even shattered windows in the area around Grant and Craycroft.
News 4 Tucson is continuing to investigate - we'll have a full report this evening.
