TUCSON - In News 4's, Kitchen Cops, segment this week the Pima County Health Department again found restaurants not "coming clean" with them.
Linh-Nam Chinese Restaurant, at 3936 W. Ina Rd., received three critical and five non-critical violations. Non-critical violations described floors throughout the kitchen as "heavily soiled" with accumulated food debris and grease. The inspector also reported extensive clutter in the kitchen area. Critical violations included numerous utensils and equipment throughout kitchen encrusted with food debris. With all violations not corrected during the inspection, Linh-Nam Chinese Restaurant was given a "Needs Improvement" rating.
Ali Baba Restaurant, at 2545 E. Speedway, received four critical violations. Food stored in a walk-in cooler tested above the required maximum 41-degrees, with baba ganoush at 51-degrees, beef at 51-degrees and lamb temped at 48-degrees. A potato cutter was observed with dried food in the crevices. The inspector also reported that the kitchen is in need of a "general deep cleaning". With all violations not corrected with the inspector on site, Ali Baba Restaurant was given a "Needs Improvement" rating.
Last week it was reported that Mr. Antojo Restaurant, at 501 N. Park Ave., had received a "Provisional" rating. The Pima County Health Department has confirmed Mr. Antojo passed re-inspection.
Restaurants awarded "Excellent" ratings include...Jerry Bob's at 10550 N. La Canada, Pinnacle Peak at 6541 E. Tanque Verde and Arizona Stadium Cafe, at 640 N. Vine.
