Home Plate on East 22nd Street received three critical and three non-critical violations.
According to the Pima County Health Department report, dead roaches were spotted in the pull-out drawer, under the sink and near the grill.
Tracking powder was also discovered on the floor.
The pesticide is not allowed in a food establishment. Because the powder couldn't be cleaned by the end of the inspection, Home Plate gets an N for Needs-Improvement.
Hooter's restaurant on West Ina Road received three critical and five non-critical violations.
An employee was observed using the dishwasher spray arm and then handling food without washing his hands prior. A package of raw chicken was stored above a partially-opened container of pickles. Chicken juice was discovered on the lid of the box.
The inside panel of the ice machine was covered in black, slimy substance.

Sliced roast beef in hot-holding was at 115 degrees when it needs to be at 130 degrees.
An employee was observed handling raw sausage links while wearing glove, took off the gloves and handled a to-go container, put them back on, and went back to work. The inspector noted the employee needed to wash his hands in-between and apply a new pair of gloves.
Tony's New York Italian Style gets a G for Good.
The best of the week goes to: Peter Piper Pizza on West Ina Road, Wildcat House on North Stone Avenue, and Big Jake's BBQ on South Kinney Road. All restaurants got an E for Excellent.
