TUCSON - Thousands of vets returned to Arizona from combat in Afghanistan and Iraq, and many will carry the war with them for months or even years.
These are the soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.
For those vets, an 8 week class is being offered for free.
It's called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and we talk with 2 combat veterans from the Vietnam War who find the practice life changing.
Mike Brewer and Richard Vandemark are former Marines.
They've seen the brutality of war and have suffered for years. They both report insomnia, lack of concentration, guilt and anger, and anxiety and stress.
In the class, they learn about various methods of meditation and yoga, breathing techniques to help calm the mind.
These combat vets have a message for the vets returning from iraq or afghanistan.
"Please seek us out. Because we can help you and your family and your friends and your employer and your teachers have a better more peaceful life," says Mike Brewer.
