Local horse rescue overwhelmed

TUCSON - A local horse rescue is asking for donations after a busy month.

Jessica Gray, with Wild Hearts, said she has more than $4,000 in bills after feeding all her animals and providing veterinary and dental care the past few weeks.

"I guess, in a way, I'm paying them back for getting me through my hard time," Gray said. "And I just don't know how anybody can see the condition that Crow is in, the condition Knight is in. It chokes me up thinking about the desperation that they have faced."

The rescue also has animals that are ready to adopt, including horses that are ready to ride.

She has recruited some local businesses to take donations for her.

Post's Feed and Supply, on 10785 North Sandario Road, is providing Bermuda hay #1, Lakin lite Bermuda alfalfa pellet and Pyrhanna fly spray. The store phone number is 520-682-6990.

Tractor Supply Company, on 7735 North Casa Grande Highway, is providing Purina senior, Dumor senior, Dumor joint supplement and Pyrhanna fly spray. The store phone number is 520-579-4303.

The rescue is also taking online donations at GoFundMe.com/bs2aig.
