TUCSON - Goodbye record heat, hello much needed rainfall.
According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, a favorable Monsoon thunderstorm pattern is taking shape. To the north, high pressure is parked over the Four Corners. Meanwhile, an easterly flow aloft will draw in moisture to southern Arizona.
Isolated showers & thunderstorms are expected to develop later this afternoon and last through the evening hours. A few storms may produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall.
Mother Nature looks to provide more atmospheric fireworks on the 4th of July. Scattered storms are expected Monday, mainly across Pima, Santa Cruz and southeast Pinal Counties. These storms may linger into Monday night, potentialy washing out area fireworks displays.
