TUCSON - Travelers at Tucson International Airport experienced some delays because of the shooting in Los Angeles.
Mike Klass said his wife was stuck in traffic trying to catch her flight back to Tucson.
"They're all scheduled for on-time departure," he said. "But if you can't get to the gate, you can't get to the airport, it's a moot point."
He had just landed from San Diego, where he heard the news.
"Everybody was concerned. Everybody knew about it and wondered what happened, and if it was a terrorist attack, or if it was a personal vendetta or something," Klass said. "All of those thoughts go through your mind."
Richard Pilling started his day in Connecticut. He caught a connecting flight at Terminal 4 at LAX. The shooting was at Terminal 3.
"People were talking on phones and getting stories from outside," Pilling said. "There wasn't really any chaos. Everything was really calm."
Because of the restrictions, he was one of just 7 people who caught the flight to Tucson.
"It just seems like there are a lot of crazy people out there, and it's disturbing," Pilling said. "But I know there are a lot more good people out there, so it's encouraging to me."
