LAS VEGAS (AP) - Defense attorneys say a Southern California man accused of stabbing two people on a walkway between Las Vegas Strip hotels was defending himself.
Attorneys Tom Pitaro and Amy Chelini made the comments following an initial court appearance Wednesday with their client, 19-year-old Toan Vo of Westminster, Calif.
Justice of the Peace Cynthia Cruz set bail at $40,000 and scheduled Vo's next court appearance Sept. 18.
She also ordered prosecutors to turn over video surveillance to the defense attorneys.
Vo faces felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing substantial bodily harm.
Pitaro says Vo will post bail to be freed from the Clark County jail in Las Vegas.
Police say an argument and fistfight preceded the stabbing Saturday evening on the walkway connecting the Luxor and Excalibur.
