TUCSON - This year we've teamed-up with the "Protect a Child Pool Fence Company" to
give away one free pool fence a month. Our first winner desperately needed one.
Argentina Camacho, a mother of nine kids, moved to Tucson 37-years ago and built a pool in their backyard shortly after.
Her family grew to 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Her husband is a disabled Vietnam Vet, so they live on a fixed budget. The family couldn't afford a pool fence.
There have been a few close calls with the pool, one of her daughters had to rescue two grandkids and her husband pulled a granddaughter from the water while he was grilling.
This is why Argentina's daughter enrolled her in the Kristi's Kids Lifesaver pool fence contest.
Christopher Bradford with the Protect a Child Pool Fence Company says drowning is a silent killer, typically there's no screaming or cries for help. He says you need adult supervision; no one should ever swim alone.
